Reason to start The Challenge

My reason for entering is to get in the best shape i can, ive always wanted to get back to a high level of fitness for my love of spearfishing and general well being, but fall off the wagon due to loosing my way or plateauing. I miss feeling great and Cant wait to start this challenge. Goals are set now its time to achieve them!

What did you like most about The Challenge?

That I finally woke up with abs πŸ˜‚

I really enjoyed the layout, with easy to follow plans and training program.
If i had any questions it was easy to jump on the forum to find the answer. Over all the best part was waking up feeling great, seeing the changes and people at the gym commenting on my progress. It felt great to know i was moving in the right direction.

What was the hardest thing about your Challenge?

And The hardest thing would have to be getting out bed after leg day haha

Na for me i'd have to say cardio was hardest thing, its something i have never been able to push my self with, but when i read on the max's training tips what HIIT does and how it works. I am now a lover of it, short sharp bursts and its over in 15min, three times a week. easy!
Now i cant walk out the gym without doing a quick 15min on the crosstrainer

And another minor thing.. was trusting the process found myself second guessing myself.. am i doing enough or to much.. if its one bit of advice i can give to anyone. Give 100% in diet and training and you'll see the results

What impact has The Challenge had on your life?

this challenge has given me a really good understanding of myself and what im capable of, i dont plan on changing to much after the challenge, my goal was to get back to being fit and healthy and im here, my next goal i have set myself is to freedive to 30m again and hopefully beyond. I love my spearfishing and With a trip coming up to bali and a course booked in freediving to teach me the fundamentals of getting to 35m, i feel having done the max challenge, this has giving me every chance of achieving my next goal.
After that you might say, well christmas is round the corner so ill be working towards gaining a few more lean kgs of muscle before then. But until then one goal at a time.

What would you say to people who are thinking of doing The Challenge?

Id probably lift my shirt up with a big smile and say DO IT! Haha
I cant recommend it enough, already my mates and people i dont even know are asking what did i do! how did i do it! Id just be honest with them, tell them it took a high level of dedication but life didnt revolve around the gym and eatting lettuce. The eatting plan has lots variety and isnt boring, theres different weight training programs and best part is i didnt do any long boring cardio sessions just HITT training and its over in 15min which Is just 20sec of flat out hard work and 40secs of catching ya breath 15 times

Anything else you would like to tell us about your Challenge?

id like to say thanks to the coaches and ambassadors and also other fellow challenges for the support along the way, you guys where always there to help and motivate us all, as i was only a standard entry i still found all the support i needed through the forum and facebook group.

Well i was indecisive on which picture to use and i didnt use the professional one as my main, i went with all natural, no trick lighting or camera angles. At end of the day we are all winners and only thing we have lost is Kgs! From 100kg to 94kg with lean muscle gained and best of all got some abs to show for it 😜 Thanks for support everyone

Week 9 left, week 8 right, progress is slow but there is progress! i wake up day to day looking for changes, pinching skin folds, tensing muscles, i second guess myself... did i eat to much... did i not train hard enough.. why is this last bit fat not moving, maybe i need to do more or eat less.. NOOO be patient take photos, week to week under same light, same pose, same time, then compare! While i look the same day to day.. i noticed this week my Quads are more defined, and my V is too, im slowly becoming more vascular.. trust the process, be patient! ☺️

wow really seeing the gains now, cant wait to loose this last bit of fat around belly, Really pushing my self and going that bit extra to ensure im fully fatigued, how good does it feel walking out gym knowing you gave it everything, and the endorphins that follow. So i did the fitness test today, i gained few extra push ups and sit ups although i felt fatigue set in giving the gym session i had last night. Guess next time ill leave rest day to just that "rest day" πŸ˜… Feel my diet is in check, did have bit of a cheat weekend with my birthday, snuck few beers in and cake, but worked it off the next day with some extra cardio! Thats all from me, enjoy the last 4 weeks and stay focussed 🀘

    25 Burpees
    70 Push Ups
    50 Crunches

Day 2, week 5 Hit a pb tonight, years ago i hurt my back doing dead lifts, or so i think anyway. Been scared to do them ever since but got back into them starting slow and making sure i hold my form and slowly progress with weight, I have mixed it up and done rack pulls on training days 5x5 to help with strength and form and do dead lifts on 10x4 days when i started this challenge i was doing 100kg dead lifts x 10 for sets of 4 Tonight i did 120x10, 140x10, 150x10 then 160kg x8 πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ felt soo good and felt i didnt lose any form! Hope everyone else is hitting PB's Time for a feeeed 😁

So seen physio tuesday, he released a few muscles and got my hip back in place. Took it easy next day at gym and really focused on my form, feel i was going bit to heavy previously. No pain and strains now, focusing on the squeeze with every rep slow and steady πŸ’ͺ. Massive difference and already feeling better for it. Really noticing strength and defintion, been strict with diet apart from one night, cant wait for week 4 to see a good comparison. Hope everyone else is feeling great and seeing progress πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ yeww! Sitting at 98.5kg now
