Reason to start The Challenge

Snapped my left hamstring (biceps femoris) in half earlier in the year and had to have 4 hour surgery to repair it and drain several litres of blood.

Couldn't walk for a fortnight, crutches for a month and leg brace for another 6 weeks.

Now 4 months post-op have the all clear to start jogging and training at the gym, but weight and fat has ballooned and fitness is at an all time low.

Just turned 40 so am really determined to get back into shape and not fall down the slippery slope.

What did you like most about The Challenge?

The structured nature of it and the ease of prep and following the plan.

What was the hardest thing about your Challenge?

After serious injury it was a real struggle at first to get back on the horse so to speak. Once I pushed through and got into the routine it became much easier.

What impact has The Challenge had on your life?

I was 98kgs pre-injury and that ballooned to almost 113kgs 3 months post-op , I've managed to get down below 95kgs and I'm in better shape and stronger than prior to injury.

What would you say to people who are thinking of doing The Challenge?

Do it! You have nothing to lose and the results speak for themselves, do yourself a favour and have a go!

Anything else you would like to tell us about your Challenge?

I found Steven Eskaf to be a breathe of fresh air, very knowledgeable and highly motivational!
