Reason to start The Challenge

I previously did the Challenge before I graduated university, and I was really happy with the healthy habits that I got from the Challenge. However, after entering the full time working world and jumping from the Gold Coast, to Canberra, and now finally to Sydney, I gradually let myself get back to almost where I was when I started the Challenge the first time around.

So with the new year, new job and new city, it's about time I get my fitness back on track. As I officially become mid-twenties, I want to do so being the fittest I have ever been.

What did you like most about The Challenge?

The best of the challenge for me was being able to look back at what I had accomplished each week, and then make sure that I pushed myself to keep doing better. Having a set exercise plan to follow meant that I was able to see, and more importantly feel, that I was getting fitter and healthier.

What was the hardest thing about your Challenge?

The hardest part of my Challenge was definitely making sure that I had enough time to cook my meal prep and to do my gym sessions properly. Sometimes it was tempting just to skip a few exercises, or to break the meal plan when I didn't feel up to cooking, but wanting to see the Challenge through to the end kept me going through those temptations.

What impact has The Challenge had on your life?

The Challenge has made me feel a lot more in control of my life. I feel fit, healthy and I feel like I can manage my time a lot better after being able to work my life around the commitments of the Challenge. When I first did the Challenge it was easy to fit everything in because I was a student and only working part-time, but being able to do the Challenge while working full-time has made me feel far more accomplished.

What would you say to people who are thinking of doing The Challenge?

I'd definitely say that they should do it! Whether you've hardly been to the gym before or you've been working hard at it for years, the Challenge gives you everything you need to push yourself further. The meal plans make sure you make the most of your efforts, and the 12 weeks will feel like they fly by as you watch yourself get fitter, healthier, and probably much happier.

Anything else you would like to tell us about your Challenge?

I now use Max's Banana Cream Pie protein powder to make amazing banana bread and, much like my fitness, this has change my life for the better.

Protein Breakfast Muffins! Made things up as I went along, but I ended up using: 1 egg 3/4 cup greek yoghurt 3/4 cup self raising flour 3/4 cup plain flour 1 cup rolled oats 1/4 cup breakfast booster (sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, black chia, pumpkin seeds & dessicated coconut) 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 cup protein powder Baked for 20 minutes at 220C. Would say 17 minutes probably would have been perfect though. Can recommend playing around to suit your taste!
