Reason to start The Challenge

I want to continue to improve my health and wellbeing. I was in the Australian Army for 13 years, and during that time, I was fit, Motivated, and disciplined, I had pride in how I looked, and most of all had self-confidence. I lived a fit and healthy lifestyle before my discharge in 2017, where I went on to have two hip replacements and proceeded to let myself go.

I stacked on the weight, I was drinking heavily due to depression, got divorced, and was generally in a bad headspace for quite some time. I went from weighing 99kg to my heaviest at one point of 127kg. It wasn't helping with my Mental state, home life, self-confidence, or motivation.

I decided to join Max's Challenge in May 2019 after previously having a go in 2018. I have seen all the transformations and was sick and tired of being sick and tired and need to change my life. Fast forward 12 weeks, after completing the May 2019 Challenge, I lost 23 Kg and gained back something that's priceless, my self-confidence and motivation but most importantly gained control of my life again. I've met some absolute legend blokes along the way.

During this Challenge, I want to completely lose what body fat I have and continue to improve my health and wellbeing.

What did you like most about The Challenge?

I loved getting out and meeting other people on the challenge, making new friends and building a network of like-minded people that I can now turn to for help, to train with and to be more social. The food was easy to prepare and easy to maintain. The training program that was put together for me by the platinum team was amazing. I've gained so much strength and confidence from this challenge, Money cannot put a price on that!

What was the hardest thing about your Challenge?

The hardest part of the challenge for me was understanding what my limitations were. I come from a lifestyle/Job that taught you to push past the comfort/pain barrier and get on with it, slowing down and doing as the program stated took some time getting used to; however, It happened and I really enjoyed it.

What impact has The Challenge had on your life?

The answer is simple. This Challenge has saved my life. I struggled hard with mental health problems, pain due to injuries, and overall lack of confidence because of what I allowed to happen in my life. This Challenge has allowed me along with the community and coaches to gain back the initiative and take control of my life and head in a positive direction. I look back at the beginning of my journey and to see how far I have come because of this Challenge, The Coaches and The Community, It's hard to hold back tears and I appreciate every minute I've been able to have and share with everyone.

What would you say to people who are thinking of doing The Challenge?

Do it, It's hard at times and but it is so worth all the aches, pains and tears at times. Discipline your emotions, diet, and training, and you will achieve everything you set your sights on. The results are priceless!

Anything else you would like to tell us about your Challenge?

Twelve weeks of intense training, disciplined dieting, and manipulation of the mindset, and I’ve completed another Max’s Challenge. I’m a healthier man of mind and body, and if it wasn’t for The Max’s Crew, I don’t know if I would have made the changes I’ve made over the past six months. Thank you to everyone that has had an impact on my transformation, no matter how big or small, every bit of it counts. Where to from here? This is it! Nothing else matters I’m Max’s all the way! I’ll continue to improve my health, fitness, and mindset under The Max’s Banner, I love the community, I love the support, and I love the challenge. I have new goals that I will achieve over the next 12 months. I have made so many mates and friends over these last few months that will last for ages to come, and I appreciate that so much.

    day 2 completed, feeling pretty off all day and yesterday. started to get a bit of a head cold, lack of sleep and other shit going on. I've managed to maintain 100% compliance with training and nutrition. I'm starting to feel a little better and getting on top of this head cold early is key. My water consumption has increased to a bit over 2 L a day now. I need to up those numbers though. I'm really impressed with the platinum program, It's absolutely amazing. I got myself a new Garmin watch, resistance bands kit and a power band to help with doing muscle ups. I really want this challenge! I'm hungry for the win.

    Absolutely stoked to be on this again. Dominated my workout this morning. Although to be honest, I’m going to have to lower my weights on the squats 5RM and build back up. Eventually I would like to be doing 180’s again for 5, but 140’s are struggling, I’m sacrificing form and technique and going to damage something. Slow she goes. Using resistance bands for the leg press was different as I worked out at home this morning. Face pulls with the RB is awesome.
