Reason to start The Challenge

Have been telling my wife for some years now that I will have a 6 pack before important milestones in our lives, wedding, birth of our kids (2 now), anniversaries, several olympic and long distance triathlons, however still haven’t achieved this personal goal. Stripped lots of weight in training and competing for triathlons, but this hasn’t resulted in me achieving my personal goal. Looking forward to some structured training plans, in particular the weights training and nutritional plans in the tried and tested Max’s 12 week challenge.

What did you like most about The Challenge?

Really enjoyed the structure of the program, knowing what to do and eat, and when to do it. The plan was simple to follow, didn't break the bank, plenty of resources available on the website when you needed them and having the ambassadors readily available online to answer questions was priceless. The other major benefit was the end result, still don't believe its me in the photo.

What was the hardest thing about your Challenge?

The first 2/3 weeks of the program was by far the hardest thing about the challenge. Challenging your physical, mental and emotional "norms", breaking down old habits and adjusting to clean eating and new routine. I also had my wifes 30th birthday, a good friends wedding and other milestone celebrations to attend in the first 3 weeks, so I think getting through those occasions whilst not differing from the nutrition and training plan set me up for great things through-out the challenge and my results speak for themselves.

What impact has The Challenge had on your life?

The challenge has had a couple of impacts on my life, however only realised them at once I posted a comparison photo to social media yesterday of my 12 week journey and reading the comments from friends, family and strangers. First one is how I have inspired so many people to go on their own personal challenges to better themselves, to achieve what they think is the impossible, in particular inspiring my sister to sign up to the may challenge to improve her lifestyle and happiness. Second impact is the realisation of how a little discipline, hardwork, structure and commitment sets you up for fantastic rewards, it doesn't matter what the challenge or goal is in life, just follow these key characteristics you will be able to achieve anything you want.

What would you say to people who are thinking of doing The Challenge?

Its the best 12 weeks of your life. If your looking for something that is physically, mentally and emotionally challenging you will not be disappointed. The program will give you the foundations to achieve anything you put your mind to in life.

Anything else you would like to tell us about your Challenge?

Only signed up to the challenge to help a friend lose weight and he managed to lose 21.5kg, however couldn't imagine the positive impact the program would have on me personally. Mentally stronger, better educated with regards to nutrition and training, more confident, happy, healthier and a massive advocate of this program.

Monday morning, day 1 week 9, down to 6% body fat. Feeling great, next 4 week program going to be challenging. Legs finished this morning and soreness is already setting in. Roll on a HIIT session tonight.

Week 8 photo done, seeing more and more changes in my body even tho the weight has been pretty consistent. Pumped for the last phase, new workout résumé, going to push hard to the finish line, increase the intensity of my cardio, and do weights until I can't physically lift, push or pull another rep. Learnt so much about myself so far, should've done the program well before now. No pain no gain.

Day 1, Week 6. Feeling great with how I am progressing through the challenge, only signed up to help a friend lose weight - he I might add has lost a whopping 10kg so far. Didn't think I would benefit as much as I have done over the past 5 weeks. Sticking to the nutrition and workout plans like glue. Upper body completed this morning with a HIIT session planned on the spin bike this afternoon. This is the first week I have gained weight (muscle), 350g since last Monday. Photos keeping me honest and on track.
