Reason to start The Challenge

Getting close to 40 and really out of shape. Used to love fitness and sport but haven't done anything for a long time and everytime i play sport i seem to get injured. Inspired by previous participants to get in shape for my young family and myself.

What did you like most about The Challenge?

Signing up for something like the challenge you are accountable and more motivated. There is also a competition element and good to check in on the forums and Facebook page. Physically i feel a lot better then when i started.

What was the hardest thing about your Challenge?

Finding time, was mainly training late at night so sleep was negatively affected

What impact has The Challenge had on your life?

Feel better, happier with my physique

What would you say to people who are thinking of doing The Challenge?

Have a go

Anything else you would like to tell us about your Challenge?

Thanks, really enjoyed it.

Almost 11:30pm, as usual in here by myself. Wasn't keen at all to train and still don't enjoy doing legs at all but had by far the best leg workout from the whole challenge tonight. Upped the weights on every excercise and kept good form, can already feel the legs burning, tomorrow might be a struggle.

Really fell off the wagon this last week. Missed 4 days of training cause of work, sick kids etc. Had my first bar of chocolate and KFC since the challenge started and then had a wedding on the weekend which was great fun but ended up being a massive night on the beers and tequila! Back in the gym the last 2 days, motivation waning but keen to smash it over the Easter break and finish off strong.

Had a mates wedding on the weekend, got in an early session and then decided to pull the pin after a few beers so could drive home. Would have been easy to have a massive night but still had a great time and woke up feeling a lot better then I otherwise would have.

Another midnight session, as usual no one else silly enough to be here. No doubt if it wasn't for the Challenge i would have been snoring along time ago.

First ever gym selfie, showing gym that has been empty for an hour and time being half past midnight. This new workout takes a while to get through! 33 sets holy heck! Going to have to try and start training earlier.

Added 10kg to my Squat which isn't very much anyway. Felt ok but then when i did walking lunges felt like i strained my right hammy. Stopped straight away, feeling ok but going to rest it. Really not enjoying the leg workouts, much prefer upper body but oh well

Still struggling a bit with meal prep, never cooked so much in my life. Still getting the hang of it but enjoying eating good food.

Went to Foo Fighters last night. Unbelievable concert but completely fell off the wagon, nutrition wise. Sober driver so didn't have any drinks but had a burger and chips before and then so much Maccas on the way home. Felt almost sick this morning. Not missing junk food, have to try not to have any more blowouts.

Rest day today so haven't done much but yesterday was a big one. Got into work at 630 to sort a few things out then did Parkrun for my cardio session. Legs were aching from leg day and felt rubbish and slow but ended up running 2 mins quicker then first time so pretty happy

First session done, finished work at 10:30pm, didn't walk out of the gym till 12:15am, just finished dinner and a nightime shake. Going to have to sort this out a bit better, night training whilst peaceful may be the end of me!
