Reason to start The Challenge

I have completed the challenge twice before and the nature of the competition pushes me to achieve the results I want.

I have recently become a father to my first child and have put my fitness and diet on the back burner while bigger focuses take up greater space in my life. Now the young fella has settled in I am ready to get myself back in order.

What did you like most about The Challenge?

The communities of support that pop up across the social medias. There is always someone there to support and encouragement to me.

The easy to follow meal plans and the added "recipes". You can go for the simple quick and easy food that is all about getting the job done. Or, you can follow one of the healthy and more elaborate recipes so you can feel like you are treating yourself.

What was the hardest thing about your Challenge?

The mental games my brain plays at different points in the journey. One day I am killing it and "need to slow down lest I loose too much weight" and the next day I am "seeing no improvement at all and what is the point of continuing when my body just doesn't respond." This head space has been one of my greatest achievements in defeating!

Oh and putting up the very first photo. I did NOT want to admit the mess I was in! In my head I was still looking good but seeing the first photo out for all to see had me make a fairer assessment and I acknowledge d I had to get to work.

What impact has The Challenge had on your life?

Counting Calories, I am now counting Calories on the regular. You wouldn't buy a car with out a fuel guage and you wouldn't wear a blind fold making a cake. Knowing calories in and calories out has helped me be the owner of my weight.

I have family photos with my 6month first born and partner that are treasured. We look fit, happy and healthy and feel that way also. They are memories little Harry can look back on when I am too old and hopefully I will be a role model to him when he is navigating starting a family and getting through his thirties.

What would you say to people who are thinking of doing The Challenge?

Get amongst it! For the cost of a single dinner and drinks at a restaurant you might just catch a habit that will increase your lifespan and happiness. At the least you will be able to feel a bit more confident at the beach come summer!

Anything else you would like to tell us about your Challenge?

Thank you to everyone who works so hard to make these events happen. The amount of resources , from podcasts to articles to different workout plans and diets, many people have clearly been working very hard.

Thanks again and see you all next time
