  • How will the 6 week challenge differ from the 12 week challenge?

    The coaches are currently adapting the programs to ensure challengers get great results, otherwise the format will be the same, there will still be check in's, prizes and information and support for the whole challenge.

  • Will I still great results in 6 weeks

    Yes, 6 weeks is long enough for you to form good habits and get results, if you want to keep going there will be another challenge soon after to consolidate your results or for you to change your goals. For example 6 weeks of fat loss followed by 6 weeks of working on strength and muscle building.

  • How will the Training and/or Nutrition change to get great results in 6 weeks?

    The Coaches are working on the programs and they have assured the team the programs will work, they are adding more ancillary programs to each plan so there will be heaps of choice once you login, however, some people may need to do both 6 week programs to get the results they are after, others may prefer to do 6 week build size then 6 weeks of fat loss.

  • Do I need to do both 6 week challenges to win a prize?

    There will be a Top 50/10/Winners judged separately for each 6 week challenge so if you enter both it will give you 2 chances to win.

  • When can I login & is there time to Prep?

    Login will open on the Friday before we start for prep weekend, which is 3 days where you will have access to your Training and Nutrition plans straight away, you can get your shopping sorted, familiarize yourself with the exercises and if you have any questions about the plans the Coaches will be available on the Forum to help you. Then by day 1 on Monday you will be ready to go!

  • Will there be another 12 week challenge in 2021

    Not in 2021 but in 2022 we may offer some 12 week and 6 week Challenges 

  • What is the Challenge?

    The Challenge is Australia's toughest and most effective transformation competition! It is an online program of hard training and disciplined nutrition designed to not only achieve dramatic change in your physique, but also teach you what you need to know to maintain and even improve your gains for a lifetime. Challengers register online, posting a 'before' picture, and have the option to enter the Challenge Competition with a 'public' account (where other challenge participants can see your transformation and pictures) or skip the competition with a 'private' account (where only you can see your picture). Challengers then work hard to achieve the best transformation they can. At the completion of the challenge, you post an 'after' picture and if you've met the requirements are in the running to win some fantastic prizes! The pictures are judged to determine who has made the biggest transformation from 'before' to 'after'!

    During the Challenge you receive: all the training plans you will need; all the nutrition and meal plans, shopping lists to help you prepare; tips and advice on the correct mindset and ways to ensure your success for the challenge and beyond; the secrets to staying in the best shape of your life and to stay in control of your fitness and physique; advice on all supplements you will need; 24/7 Knowledge and Support from our team of  Professional Coaches and Ambassadors; our Coaches have decades of experience and most of our Ambassadors are our Top 10 men and women from the previous Challenges - real people who have lived and breathed the Challenge first hand ready to share their experience and knowledge with first time Challengers!

  • Can anyone do the Challenge? Are there any restrictions?

    The Challenge is open to all men & women of all health and fitness levels and abilities. The only restriction is you must be 16 years or older to be a private participant, and 18 years or older to be a public participant, at the time of registration.

  • I have registered my interest but can't login to the website?

    Unfortunately registering your interest to receive email updates is not the same as officially registering for the challenge, so you not be able to use this to 'login'. You will need to click 'Join Now' and complete the registration process prior to the Challenge start date. 

  • What payment methods are available.

    Payments can be made via Credit Card or ZipPay. To find out more about how ZipPay works please refer to https://www.maxchallenge.com.au/how-zippay-works.

  • I am a returning Challenger but I am not getting the return challenger Discount

    The Discount applies to everyone who has done a paid Challenge. If you did the Challenge prior to 2016 you would have done the older free version.
    The System will recognise your email or mobile and automatically apply the Discount.

  • Can I start the Challenge early or do it in my own time?

    Unfortunately you cannot purchase and follow the plans on your own outside of the set dates.

  • When do I take my 'before' photo? And what are the image requirements?

    You can choose to take your starting photo at any time in the week prior to the Challenge start date, or the first week of the Challenge.

    Image requirements are as follows:


    • You must be holding a copy of any nationally daily newspaper published in Australia (not local papers) with the front page clearly showing and within 24 hours of the newspapers date. This is done to verify the date the picture was taken or the Entry Document available on site.


    • Male - Form-fitting shorts or bathers are preferred, showing legs and torso. 
    • Female - two-piece bathing suit or bra and undies are best.
    • *Be sure not to cut your legs off or cover them in long pants. If you cover up parts of your body it will be difficult to show your progress.


    • Stand with your arms at your sides in the image—no posing - facing forwards.
    • Hold a copy of a newspaper (as per above) clearly displaying the front page, but not covering your body (or as minimal as possible).
    • Take your photo in front of a white or plain background if possible.
    • Try to include your whole body from head to toe in the image, or as much as possible.
    • Try to fill the photograph with your whole body. If you stand too far away, it may be hard to see your progress and great results.
    • No picture can be treated or in any way enhanced after they have been taken. 

  • When do I upload my 'before' photo?

    When you set up your profile in your DASHBOARD once you have access from day 1 of Prep Week you will then be able to upload 'before' photo. You have until the end of week 2 to upload the photo.

  • Social Media

    If you choose not to use social media it will in no way affect the results of the Challenge.

    Some Challengers like to post their Journey on Social Media with regular pictures and updates. This can be a way to keep you accountable.

    We encourage the use of our Challenge Hashtags in order for the Social Hub to pick up your posts #wearechallenge  #maxchallenge21 #maxineschallenge21 

    We will repost as many of your pictures as we can, if you would like your picture shared on our story remember to tag us @maxchallenge or @maxineschallenge so we see the post.

  • What Supplements do I need for the Lean Program?

    There will be a supplement list emailed to Challengers but for the Lean program you would need:
    1 X Max's Shred System
    1 X Max's Anabolic night
    2 X Boxes of Max's Super Shred bars/cookies
    This will last for approx 4 weeks.
    You may also wish to use the Lab Series Beta Pump if you need some extra energy before training, Creatine X 8 to increase strength and endurance and build Lean Muscle, Glutamine+ to help with recovery and BCAA's to activate Protein synthesis.

  • What Supplements do I need for the Build size & Strength Program?

    For the Build size Program we would recommend the following supplements:

    Max's Clean Mass Protein
    Max's Anabolic Night Protein
    1 box Max's Muscle meal Cookies
    You may also wish to use the Lab Series Beta Pump if you need some extra energy before training, Creatine X 8 to increase strength and endurance and build Lean Muscle, Glutamine+ to help with recovery and BCAA's to activate Protein synthesis.

  • Can we do the Challenge as a couple and eat the same meals?

    Yes, all of the meals are interchangable, the meals are similar although the portion sizes will differ, so if 1 person has Chicken on their plan for dinner and the other beef, it is fine to both have either option in the portion size allocated to you on your plan.

  • I cannot eat all foods but can I still do the Challenge?

    Yes, all foods can be substituted or swapped easily, the Coaches on the Forum will help you if you need advice on substitutions.

  • Can I do the Challenge without using the Supplements?

    Yes, you will still get great results with 100% Nutrition and Training, however, we would recommend that you use the Supplements as they contain fat burners and will assist you to get your results quicker

  • Do I need to be a member of a gym to do the Challenge?

    No we offer both gym and home training options. However if you do choose to train at home we do recommend having some basic equipment to get the most out of your program, including:

    - a bench (adjustable if possible)
    - a barbell with interchangable weights (or fixed of a few different weights)
    - a dumbbell set with interchangable weights (or fixed of a few different weights)
    - Fitball/Swiss Ball
    - Resistance Bands (2 sizes recommended - light and medium or depending on your level)

  • Can I Change my Program once I have registered?

    It is easy to change your Nutrition and Training program.

    There is a tab on your profile page that allows you to change either your Nutrition or Training or Both Programs once you have set up your Profile.

    You can change your program up to the first check in of the Challenge.

  • Can I swap exercises I can’t do?

    The Coaches and Ambassadors will be available on the Forum to give advice about changing any exercises you are unable to complete.

    There are videos of all exercises on the plan to help you.

  • I have an injury or illness?

    We would always recommend that you check with your Health Care provider before starting and Nutrition or Training Program.

    Once you have treatment in place the Coaches will be able to offer suggested alternative exercises

  • Who can see my details?

    All details (including photos, journal entries, stats and forum posts) are contained within the website and only visible to registered challengers. If you have a private profile then only your name will be visible to other challengers.

  • Do you have a Gluten/Lactose free program?

    Our Nutrition plan is mainly Gluten free, there are a few items such as Oats where you may need to substitute a Gluten free alternative such as Rice Flakes and foods such as Bread where a Gluten free option is readily available.

    Our Coaches  on the Forum are happy to give options and suggestions. The Protein shakes are all Gluten Free.

    With Lactose there is Yogurt on the Program for breakfast which can be substituted by swapping it for a different Breakfast choice such as eggs. Also the Protein Shakes may contain some Lactose so you may decide to try the Maxine's Plant protein shake, rather than the Maxine's Burn or Max's range of shakes which are whey based shakes.

  • Can I do the Challenge if I have dietary requirements?

    Our plans are predominately Gluten-Free, and we also have Vegan and Vegetarian meal plans. Our protein supplements are all Gluten-Free, and we also have a Vegan protein available.

  • When is the next Challenge?

    There are usualy 3 Challenges per year.  Please refer to the key dates for all Challenge dates.

  • Can I do the Challenge outside of Australia?

    Yes you can complete the Challenge outside of Australia so long as you have access to the internet.

    However, prizes can only be shipped within Australia.

  • Can I do the Challenge anonymously? And who can see my profile if I am Public?

    You have the choice to have either a Public or Private profile.

    If you have a PRIVATE profile only you can see your photos and information.

    If you have a PUBLIC profile it will only be visible to other logged in Challenge participants, as well as those who register to vote at the end. The only information visible on a PUBLIC profile is your photo(s), weight, journal entries and Forum comments. Your personal information that you register with (such as phone number, address etc) remains private. Any and all information contained within a Public profile cannot be searched via Google or external sources.

  • What are the terms on refunds?

    We do not refund for change of mind. For full information on our payment and refund policy please refer to our Terms & Conditions.

  • What support will I get through the Challenge?

    As well as providing you with all the necessary Training and Nutrition Programs you will also have full access to a large variety of online video tips about nutrition and training. Most importantly you will have access to the Challenge Coaches, Ambassadors, and the Challenge Community via our Forum for support! Even though we have separated the Challenge for men and women for judging purposes, one of the MOST important parts of the Challenge process is the community that develops between Challengers as the Challenge progresses – we are all in this together and here to help each other!!

  • When do we get access to the Forum & Coaches?

    This will become available as soon as login opens a few days prior to the Challenge.

    You will then have time to get your shopping list sorted and ask any questions of the coaches.

  • When do I get my Training & Nutrition Plans?

    You will have access to all plans as soon as login opens a few days prior to the Challenge starting.

  • Do I have to follow the plans exactly as they are?

    We understand that every person and their lifestyle, preference and schedules are different. That is why we encourage people to use the plans as a guide. They will work the way they are, but you can also modify them to suit your needs.

  • What if I am between 2 programs?

    If you are unsure which program to choose when signing up, choose the one you think best suits your MAIN goal,  then you can change Program up until the 1st check in if you feel you have chosen incorrectly. Changing after the first check in is not advised if you want to get the best possible results.

    You can also mix and match 2 programs. Once you set up your profile on your PROFILE PAGE you can select separate training and nutrition programs. You can choose the same (eg. LEAN / TONE & SHAPE) or you can choose different training to nutrition. This is what makes it customizable.

  • Do I have to use MAX'S supplements?

    If you are doing the Challenge then we highly recommend using the MAX'S supplements. The Challenge weekly meal plans on this website are designed specifically around the MAX'S Supplement range to ensure that you get the best results. MAX'S products are formulated to achieve results, with specific proteins, fat burners, recovery and other nutrients designed to support each individual nutrition plan. We use the highest quality ingredients to ensure the best results. We know some people may want to use other products and other brands. But be aware that not all supplements are of the highest quality or true to label claims. These poorer quality or unsuitable formulas will definitely reduce the effectiveness of your program, so insist on the best.   • Am I automatically part of the competition?

    Some people wish to do the Challenge anonymously, or only do it for themselves and not be part of the 'competition' side of it. Therefore everyone who registers is automatically given a 'Private' account. When you set up your profile in your DASHBOARD you will then have the option to choose a 'public' profile and will be able to select Yes or No to enter into the competition.

  • What do I need to know about the Social Hub?

    Why the Social Hub: 

    • We use the Social Hub to bring all the commentary online across the board on every social channel talking about the Challenge to the one place.
    • We provide you with a tailor-made social experience for the entire challenge and more.
    • We want our Challengers to see more of their social content, we give it to them. We showcase it all into a single page where you can view, share and interact. At the Challenge, we take the pain out of social.
    • When posting on any of your social accounts about the Challenge use the hashtags #maxchallenge21 #wearechallenge for the MAXS Challenge and #maxineschallenge21 #wearechallenge for the Maxine's Challenge. Our Social Hub will pick up your post if it contains these hashtags.

  • I just registered but wasn't asked to upload my before photo or choose to be Public or Private?

    Everyone who registers is registered as a private entrant. Simply Setup your Profile in the 'Dashboard' section of your account to enter the comeptition and upload your 'before' photo.

    A few people just wish to do the Challenge for themselves and don't wish to be part of the competition side of it so there is still a Private option.

    If you choose to remain Private, we would still recommend that you upload photo's as an indication of your Progress. Only you will be able to see these photos.

  • What if I am overseas when the Challenge finishes?

    If you are overseas when the Challenge finishes, you can still complete the process as long as you have access to the internet and Challenge website.

    If you won't have access (or are unsure if you will) you can prepare your answers to the finishing questions in advance, take your photos, and give these along with your login details to someone who will have access to the internet, who can complete it on your behalf.

    If you are unable to have someone do it for you, you can still participate in the Challenge but unfortunately you will not 'officially 'complete the Challenge, and simply will not be eligible for judging.

  • Do I have to join a Group?

    No, joining or creating a Group is entirely optional, and simply an extra way to keep yourself motivated, accountable and on track.

  • Why must you have a Public profile to win prizes?

    When you have a 'Private' profile no one can see your profile and photos except you, which means the judges are also unable to see your photos during the voting period.

  • What information can challenge participants or public voters see?

    If you have a Public account other challengers and voters from the public can see only the before/after/progress photos, any/all journal entries posted, and any fitness stats or information you have logged (eg weight, fitness test results etc). They will not however be able to see any of your private details like your phone number, or address, which are only recorded for the purposes of getting in contact with you or awarding prizes.

  • What prizes are available?

  • Do I get a personal coach?

    No.  Although, you will have access to ask Coaches and Ambassadors questions on the forum at any time from the start of Login through until the website closes after the winners are announced.

  • Where can I find previous Challenge Magazines?

    Check out the Challenge Magazines online at ISSUU, download or just read online for FREE!


  • Do I have to complete check-in's?
    • If you are a 'Public' Challenger and are registered to compete in the Challenge competition you will need to complete check-in's including uploading a progress image, you are able to do this from your Profile page and will be prompted if your Check-in is not completed. 
    • If you are a 'Private' Challenger you will not need to complete check-in's however we would recommend you do as it is a good visual indication of your Journey.
  • What questions will I be asked to answer in the Completion process?
